Detection of dens invaginatus in a one-year old infant.

چکیده
The first dental visit is recommended within six months of the eruption of the first primary tooth. The goals of the visit include: family education, history taking directed to preand postnatal factors affecting oral health, appropriate home care (including brushing and fluoride supplements), assessment of feeding habits, and prevention of oral trauma—in essence infant anticipatory guidance. However, clinical examination of oral structures is an integral part of this visit and must not be undervalued or overlooked by the dentist or parent. The following report illustrates the importance of the infant visit and how early intervention resulted in detection of an uncommon pathosis which had the potential of causing an unnecessary loss of a central incisor during infancy.

Dens Invaginatus in Primary Maxillary Molar: A Rare Case Report and Review of Literature
Dens invaginatus is a rare developmental anomaly. It is unusual to find this anomaly in primary dentition. Diagnosis of this dens invaginatus is important due to possible pulpal involvement. Not only that, simultaneous presence of other dental anomaly may require long-term treatment planning. Dens invaginatus can be detected clinically in the tooth presenting unusual crown morphology or radiogr...

Dens invaginatus is a developmental anomaly that results in an enamel-lined cavity intruding into the crown or root before the mineralization phase. It typically affects permanent maxillary lateral incisors, central incisors, and premolars. This paper describes the root canal treatment of Oehlers' type II dens invaginatus in maxillary left lateral incisors. A 16-year-old boy presented to the Fa...

This case report describes the anomalous development of maxillary permanent lateral incisors in a seven-year-old white male. The maxillary right permanent lateral incisor radiographically demonstrated anomalous development characteristic of dens invaginatus. A coincidental finding of a microdontic maxillary left permanent lateral incisor also was observed at this time. This patient presented wi...

Dens invaginatus is a developmental anomaly that results in an enamel-lined cavity intruding into the crown or root before the mineralization phase. This report presents regenerative endodontic treatment of a necrotic immature tooth with Oehler's type III dens invaginatus of a nine-year-old female patient. A diagnosis of dens invaginatus (Oehler's type III) and a large periapical lesion was est...

Introduction. "Dens invaginatus" is a dental anomaly which originates from the invagination of the ameloblastic epithelium into the lingual surface of the dental crown during the odontogenesis. It can cause early pulpal necrosis, abscesses, retention or dislocation of contiguous elements, cysts, and internal resorptions. It normally affects the upper lateral incisors. In the following study the...
